Lifeline Express
Life (Jeevan) Line (Rekha) Express has completed nearly ninety-three projects by visiting several remote rural areas of India that hardly have any medical facility. This train has all the medical facility equipped. It is just like a mobile hospital that runs on wheels. Initially it had 3 coaches equipped with operation theaters, X-ray rooms, laboratories, first-aid rooms, accommodation for medical staff etc.
This train was successful in giving medical aids to the people who were hit by various natural disasters. This train has served nearly 400,000 Indians. At Present two Lifeline Expresses are running both have all facilities and each coach of this train is air-conditioned. The second Lifeline express was donated by IR in 2007 and it has 5 coaches.
