Chandigarh Transport Undertaking
Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (also called CTU) is the Public Transport unit of the Chandigarh administration in India. It is managed by Home Secretary, who also acts as Transport secretory and directorAs of 2011, CTU has 517 buses, out of which 209 buses serves chandigarh region whereas remaining are interstate covering Punjab, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. CTU have 117 Semi Low floor passenger friendly Buses of Bharat-II Euro norms.
CTU have lowest Staff ratio per Bus compare to other Bus Transport throughout India. They have various applications running on WWW related to Bus Ticketing Accounts system, GPF Maintenance, Salaries, Allowances etc. In Chandigarh, CTU buses follows Grid Transport System to reduce traveling time.
