Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Mandir :

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Mandir in Mumbai is the most popular & significant places of worship of Shree Ganesh in Maharashtra, India .

This temple was first consecrated on Thursday 19th November 1801. Shree Siddhivinayak temple is a castle-like structure with a principal Kalash, that is 12 feet high, 3 others which are 5 feet high, and 33 which are 3.5 feet high, thus making a total of 37 gold plated domes adorning the temple.

The idol of Ganpati in this temple has four arms therefore also called Chaturbhuj.

A lotus is held in the upper right hand and a small axe in the upper left, holy beads are held in the lower right and a bowl full of Modaks (a delicacy which is a perennial favorite with ShreeSiddhivinayak) in the lower left.

 On Tuesday - the day of worshipping Ganesh, serpentine queues of devotees encircle the Siddhivinayak temple.

An estimated 1.5 to 2 lakh people visit this temple every Tuesday.
