Chandragiri Fort

Chandragiri Fort is a historical fort, which was built in the 11th century.

It is a protective structure for the Raja Mahal (Palace), situated in Chandragiri near Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Chandragiri was ruled by Yadava Naidu for three centuries and then went into control of Vijayanagar rulers in the year 1367.

The region shot into prominence during the reign of Saluva Narasimha Royal. Chandragiri is considered the fourth capital of Vijayanagar Empire, and later it was annexed to Golconda territory and eventually it was administered by Kingdom of Mysore rule.
