Shamirpet Deer Park
About 24 kilometres from the city, Shamirpet Deer Park offers a unique experience to view deer in their natural habitat.
The Park is spread over an area of 54 acres and is home to several species of deer, with blackbucks and chital being the main residents.
The deciduous forest and the tranquil Shamirpet Lake offer the perfect environment for the deer to thrive here.
The Park used to be hunting grounds for the Nizams, but today, under the aegis of the Forest Department, it functions as a sanctuary for different species of deer, plants and trees.
It can be a wonderful experience to watch blackbuck graze or watch a herd of deer gallop away like the wind.
The Shamirpet Deer Park is open for the public from Tuesdays through Sundays, from 9 am until 5 pm.
