Birla Mandir :
Birla Mandir is a Hindu Temple, built on a 280 feet ( 85 m ) high hillock called Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres (53,000 m2 ) plot. The construction took 10 years and was consecrated in 1976 by Swamy Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. The temple was constructed by Birla Foundation, which has also constructed several similar temples across India, all of which are known as Birla Mandir.
Birla Mandir is located in Hyderbad, is located on top of kala pahad, towards the southern point of Hussian sagar. Birla Mandir was constructed in 1976 by the Birla family, which is a renowned family of industrialist in India. Birla Mandir is dedicared to Lord Venkateswara, but threr are two other deities in the temple – padmavati and Andal. The beautiful structure is built from white marble, which was brought all the way from the state of Rajasthan. The architecture of the temple is its high light, as it is a synthesis of South India and Oriya architectural styles.
The Rajagopuram if the Birla Mandir is built using the South indian style of architecture, while the tower over the main shrine is built the Oriya style of architecture. Birla Mandir has some spectacular sculptures depicting scenes from the Hindu epics, Mahabharat and Ramayana.
Birla Mandir manidests a blend of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Utkala architectures. It is constructed of 2000 tons of pure white marble. The granite idol of presiding deity Lord Venkateswara is about 11 ft ( 3.4 m ) tall and a carved lotus forms an umbrella on the top. There is a brass flagstaff in the temple premises which rises to a height of 42 ft (13 m ). The temple dies not have traditional bells, as Swami Ranganathananda wished that the timple atmosphere should be conducive for meditation about the temple.
Kausalya supraja Rama Poorva sandhya pravartate.. the mantra chanted to arouse Lord Venkateswara (vishnu ), to whom the temple is dedicated, can be heard at dawn. And as for the evenings, they are a treat to the ears in this hilltop temple. Sweet melodies of cuckoos and the kirtanas of Annamayya, Tyagaraja and Ramadas against the backdrop of an orange red sky pleasantly soothe the soul.
Birla Mandir combines the architectural stles of Orissan and South Indian temples. A Rajagopuram built in the South Indian style greets the visitors. The tower over the main shrine of Lord Venkateswara called the jagadananda Vimanam is built in the Orissan style, while the towres over the shrines of the consorts are built in the South Indian style.
The granite image if the presiding deity is about 11 ft tall and a carved lotus forms an umbrella for this image. There are several carvings in marble, in the adjoining Mukha Mandapam depictiong scenes friom Indian Mythology. The consorts of Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal, are housed in separate shrines. There is also temple dedicated to Buddha in this complex, with fresco paintings describing his life and work.
Birla Mandir offers a spectacular sight when illuminated at night. A tour to Hyderabad is considered incomplete without a visit to the enchanting Birla Mandir. Birla Mandir temple is open for visitors from 7:00 am to 120 am and 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm on all days of the week.

Birla Mandir is build by birla family full of white granite. The view from temple is very good, and easy to access from all places from hyderabad and secunderbad.

Birla Mandir temple tood ten years to get completed. The idol of Lord Venkateswara is 11 feet tall and a carved out oltus canopy above it adda to its beauty. The idol is sculpted in a typocal Oriya style. Apart from the main deity, Shiva, Ganesha, Hanuman and Saibaba are also worshipped in this temple. Birla Mandir is so pleasant to visit any time.
