A mini refinery of ONGC with capacity of about 0.1 MMTPA with an approved cost of Rs.29.9 crore was commissioned in September, 2001 at Tatipaka in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.

The Private Sector Refinery (RPL) was commissioned on 14th July, 1999 with an installed capacity of 27 MMTPA at Jamnagar. The present capacity of this refinery is 33.00 MMTPA.
Tatipaka is a village in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India, on the Godavari river. Its economy is primarily based on business as well as agriculture.
Tatipaka has a combination of tropical wet and dry climate. Summers (March–June) are hot and humid, with average highs in the mid 30s Celsius; maximum temperatures often exceed 40 °C (104 °F) between April and June. Winter lasts for only about two-and-a-half months, with the lowest temperature dipping occasionally to 14 °C (57 °F) in December and January. May is the hottest month and January is the coldest month
Tatipaka village is very good business hub for the villages around it. A lot of people come to Tatipaka to purchase grocery items on wholesale and retail basis. Tatipaka Refinery is a mini oil refinery of ONGC with capacity of about 0.1 MMTPA with an approved cost of Rs.29.9 crore. Everybody think that the refinery belongs to Nagaram village, but geographically it is located in Tatipaka.

There are 5 cinema theaters and many shops available. UFO Moviez India LTD (Digital Cinema Company) has been installed in Annapurna Theatre with satellite equipment. Chiranjeevi's Big Boss (film) holds village record for getting exhibited in 3 theaters.
The village Appanapalli, which is famous for Lord Venkateswara Swami Temple beside the Godavari River, is nearly 12 km from Tatipaka. Tatipaka is very near to Antarvedi, which is famous for its temple and also its beach.
Major population of the village are Hindu's. Every summer they celebrate festival for the mother goddess Mavulamma. Devotees of the village pray to Mavulamma for familial welfare such as fertility, healthy progeny or a good spouse. In Tatipaka center RAMALAYAM and near by it DURGA TEMPLE are very famous......
It was connected by NH214B and has a good transportation facilities to most of the major cities in Andhra Pradesh. We have A.P.S.R.T.C as well as many private travels connecting to Hyderabad,Vijayawada, Vizag etc..
