The state-of-art ship-borne sonar HUMSA, designed and developed by Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi and productionised by Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore is a standard fit for naval ships. 

Twelve systems have been productionised.
