Tulja Bhavani temple :

The Tulja Bhavani Mandir is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas in maharashtra, India and is located in an aesthetic ambiance in Tuljapur.

 Tulja Bhavani temple was constructed during the 12th Century.

 The main sanctum of this medieval temple stands as a specimen of temple architecture of 12th Century.

The prime deity is Tulja Bhavani, a form of Goddess Devi.

 The idol is of one meter high carved out of granite.
There are many mythological stories showing the existence and importance of Tulja Bhavani temple. It is believed that Bhavani took birth to kill the demon Mahishasura.

 The idol in this temple has eight arms with different weapons in the arms.

The head of the Mahishasura is also seen in her hand.
