Jonnawada

Jonnawada is situated at west of Nellore, is a very old and religious place and called as the one of the Sakthi Peethas among the few of its kind.

Temple is of goddesses Sakthi or Amavaru, I think government have to increase some roadways and along to it some facilities to make it a safe and good tourist destination in terms of religious places. when you are planning to visit this destination,

its better to carry your own food as food there wont be good at all. It's very attractive, beside Penna river. A nice place to visit. One of the popular pilgrim centres of India, is Jonnawada, which is around 15 km from the region of Nellore.

It is famous for one of the two Kamakshi temples located here. The main Kamakshi temple is said to have been built here, in the year 1150 A.D. and consists of shrines dedicated to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Kamakshamma.

The temple is popular for the 10-day festival that is held in dedication to Goddess Kamakshi, who is considered to be an incarnation of Shakti. Some of the parts of the temple like the Gopuram of the temple are made out of a single stone.

Some unexplored and undiscovered villages are located on the way to this temple.

People who come here to pray to the goddess, believe that it will help them stay away from serious diseases and illness.
