Mattapalli Narasimha Swam

Mattapalli is a village, which is known for its temple of Narasimha Swami.

 The village of Mattapalli is located on the banks of River Krishna, 5 km from the Huzurnagar Taluk of Nalgonda District.

Mattapalli Temple is said to be one of the Pancha Narasimha Kshetras. 

The others are Vedadri, Vadapally, Vethapuram and Mangalagiri. According to a popular verse in the local language, there are no parallels in the region, to Matapalli as a pilgrim spot or to the Lord of Mattapalli.

 The temple of Mattapalli is dedicated to Sri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swami, Sri Rajyalakshmi Thaayar and Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Thaayar.

Mattapalli is also known as Mattampalli. The temple of Sri Laxmi Narsimha Swamy was built by a king of Thangeda. 

The major celebrations held in this temple are Vykunta Ekadasi and Kalyana Mahotsva, which are celebrated in the months of January and May.
