Lepakshi

Lepakshi hold a place of importance among Hindus, as it is the site of three temples that are dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Veerabhadra.

The famous Veerabhadra Temple, which was constructed by two brothers – Viranna and Virupanna – is located in Lepakshi.

The architectural style of the temple is Vijayanagar style and the temple is renowned for its beautiful sculptures.

One of the major attractions of the place is the massive Nandi Bull, which is made from a single granite stone.

 Lepakshi also has a wonderful collection of mural paintings of the kings of Vijayanagar.

 Visitors also will find many Kannada inscriptions that are centuries old on the walls of the temples here.
