Visakhapatnam railway station

The Visakhapatnam railway station is managed by the East Coast Railway of Indian Railways. It is on the Chennai Central-Howrah Station direction, while the chief stroke evades the Central Station. Duvvada railway station, a suburban station on the key stroke (close the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant) is being settled into a satellite pivot to expand Vizag train service.

Visakhapatnam railway station falls on Kolkata Chennai rail way. Vizag Railway Station is located near to Bay of Bengal; Visakhapatnam is assisted by trains of South Eastern Railways. From Vishakhapatnam trains tier to Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Howrah (Kolkata), New Delhi and some other important places of the country. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus stand is set nearly the railway station; from here bus services are accessible to several endpoints of Andhra Pradesh. Amenities offered at Visakhapatnam railway station contain computerized reservation office, retiring room, waiting room, cloak room, refreshment room (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), water chiller and telephone stand.

The first Vizag train started in October, 1894. In the starting, the railway station was positioned at One Town close Old post office. Later, in 1968, it was moved to its current place and was named Waltair railway station. Later, in the 1987, Mr. D.V Subbarao, the then Mayor of Visakhapatnam, reformed the name to Visakhapatnam.
