Papi hills, also known as Papi kondalu in Telugu is a hill range located in Andhra Pradesh. They were originally called as Papidi Kondalu as Papidi in Telugu that means Partition since the hills divide River Godavari.

There is also another version that the Papi range resembles the splitting of an Indian Woman’s hairline called papidi in Telugu, which later became popular as Papi Kondalu.

The region is distributed between East and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The scenic beauty of the hill range is at best described as scintillating in an idyllic setting and a tribal atmosphere that offers delight to the tourists.

 The waterfalls of Munivaatam near Papi Hills amuses tourists. Koruturu village in West Godavari district is considered the gateway for Papi kondalu. Tourists can reach the hills from East Godavari or Rajahmundry. It can be reached by means of a Ghat road at a distance of 35 km with numerous hairpin bends and twisted paths. This road traverses Polavaram and Vadapalli to Papi. The place boasts of excellent wild life and is home for spotted deers, panthers, antelopes, tigers, jackals and numerous bird species. Not far away from this place, Sabari River joins Godavari.
