The Naini Lake

Naini lake is the star attraction and the main draw of tourists in Uttaranchal. It is from this lake that the city of Nainital, the beautiful settlement by the lake, derives its name. True to its popularity the lake is splendidly beautiful. Spectacular is the scene when night descends, and the lights come up and reflect in the lake.

Snow View

Snow view as the name suggests offers an indescribably beautiful and breath-taking picture of the glittering snows of Himalayas. At an altitude of 2270 meters, it is not just higher then Nainital but also very colder. It is the most easily accessible hilltop and is 2.5 kms away from Nainital. You can either walk up here, take a taxi or a cable car or the ponies available at the Mallitaal.

Bhowali

Bhowali is located 11kms. from Nainital, on Haldwani - Almora road, it is a major fruit mart and health resort. A beautiful place, at a height of 1706 metres above the sea level. There is also the famous Sainik School of India here. A T. B. Sanatorium was established here in 1912. A temple to Gollu Devta, a demi-god highly revered by the Kumaonis is here too.

Ramgarh

25 km This is known as the home of Kumaon orchards. Prosperous estates can be seen here.

Naukuchia Tal

Sat Tal : 21 km There are three lakes (of the original seven Sat), named after the epic personages Ram, Sita and Lakshman near the main resort. The others are some distance away Sat Tal is 21 km away from Nainital. It was a cluster of seven tal or lakes originally. The pine and oak trees add to the beauty of Sat Tal.
Bhim Tal at a distance of 23 Km from Nainital. The lake offers opportunities for water sports too. The natural beauty of the place makes it an excellent excursion option from Nainital.
Naina Peak : Known as the China peak this peak is the highest point in Nainital. From here Nainital appears as a bowl. You can walk or take ponies to the peak. From this peak you can capture the exciting views of Nainital. Naina peak also gives a good view of the Camelback peak. Check out the spectacular sights of the Himalayas and the Tibetan borders too.
Hanuman Garhi : This place is of religious importance. Situated at a height of 1951 meters this place was established by Baba Neem Kiroli. A very beautiful Hanuman mandir is at the top. From Hanuman Garhi watching the Sunset is very soothing.
Observatory : The clear skies over Nainital prompted the government to setup an observatory here. The observatory has one of the most advance telescopes in India.

Rope Way : The rope way journey in Nainital is one of the most famous attractions here.
