Indira Park
Indira Park is having 76 acres of area and it lies on the lower Tank Bund road beside the Hussan Sagar.
The foundation stone for the Indira Park was laid during September 1975 by Late Faqruddin Ahmed, the then president of India and it was open for the public in the year 1978 with complete landscaping.
It is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. It is one of the oldest parks in the twin cities.
It is charming entertainment park for common people, school children, families and also tourists as the landscaping of Indira Park was very uniquely designed without disturbing the natural elements existing in Park such as wild date palms, keuvda plantation and Sandal wood trees and fruit plants like mango, kalajamun etc. Several small stalls and stores stock cool drinks and snacks.
Covering acre after acre of lush vegetation, it makes a good picnic and play spot.
Later in 1994 Computerised Musical dancing fountain and water falls, commercial nursery and rose garden are the added attractions. Here boating facility is the main entertainment.
The park is also getting 25 lakhs (approx.) revenue per annum through the entry fee, canteen, parking, boating pond and film shootings etc.
