Thadipudi Reservior


Thatipudi Reservoir Projectwas constructed across Gosthani River during 1963-1968.

The Project is located near Thatipudi village, Gantyada Mandal,Vizianagaram District.

 The aim of this project is to irrigate a total ayacut of 15,378 acres (62.23 km2) in Vizianagaram District and to provide drinking water to Visakhapatnam City.

 The project utilizes about 3 TMC of the available water. The reservoir storage capacity is about 3 TMC.

It joins the Bay of Bengal at the historical town Bheemunipatnam.
