Kakinada Port railway station


Kakinada Port railway station, located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, serves Kakinada in East Godavari district, Kakinada Port and industries in the region. It is 13 km from Samalkot.

Kakinada Port railway station was built at a cost of Rs. 5 crore (50 million) and opened in 2011. Rs. 98 crore (980 million) was spent in doubling the Samalkot-Kakinada line.

Kakinada Port railway station is one of the eighteen ‘A’ category stations in the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.

Kakinada-Pithapuram line project was sanctioned in the Railway Budget for 2012-13.
